Hi,

It's good to see that you guys are making progress on the KLUG initiative, nice job people! For one thing, at least the website itself has been getting some facelift, and there's people to actually work on it.

We'd like to see more stuff coming out of the "portal" (as some of us would like to refer to the KLUG website). Things like articles on FOSS being applied on the workplace, everyday experience in using it, tips and tricks that you discovered yourself while using it,cool things you can do with it (play/compose music,play/conceptualize games, create 2D/3D graphics, control your PC remotely, etc.) and why it's almost the same as using any other proprietary/commercial system, only that it's FREE. In short, the site could also be a marketing tool to promote FOSS to the local community.

Of course, we all know the difficult truth of how FOSS has had lukewarm reception locally (esp. Linux Desktops in small establishments, but I don't know how it is like now since I haven't had updates). But this shouldn't discourage us from doing what we can to push (or at least nudge) for the use of FOSS in business establishments. Sounds like a long term goal, but with everyone's help, I'm confident that it's worth it :).

Just my (2/100) cents worth. Peace

Miko
