naa lang ko gamay na pangutana... about sa gpl/lgpl licensing

ang ginastate man gud is pag imodify nimo you must distribute while
preserving the name of the orig. author. ok lang mana, pero what if ang
application na ginadevelop is mission-critical or handling very sensitive
transaction processes, are you compelled to distribute or pwede ra itago ang
code for life? Basin ba na ang processes is well-illustrated sa code, and
then dili cya pwede magawas sa bounds sa company... getz?

Yup. AFAIK, you also have to publish the modifications you made with
the original code.

The intent of the GPL is to encourage "sharing." You got the source
code without any limitations, wouldn't it be "unfair" if dili pud nimo
i-share ang imong mga modifications?

If you're looking for a license that doesn't force you to contribute
your changes back to the community, you can use the BSD license
instead. Although once naka GPL na ang isa ka source code, GPL na gyud
tanan nya derivatives.

There are some software which are dual-licensed like MySQL for
example. With MySQL you can either use the GPL or the commercial
license. It gives you the option na kung dili ka gusto mag-share sa
imong modifications, magbayad na lang ka sa MySQL AB.
