"Windows Vista isn't so much a new operating system as it is demand generation for new hardware. It's a strategy that ultimately will prove successful because it enlists the support of *everyone* selling hardware."
This is putting into words what the Redmond behemoth is really trying to do. And I think people have started to notice that MS is trying to lead them into something that no sane person would really wanna go "consciously". If you bite, then if Redmond says you have to jump off a cliff, then you might do so without "parachutes" or soft landing cushions. The game is purely about driving the market and profit. Though it is perfectly natural for businesses to do such a thing, but any cost-conscious consumer would think otherwise. I would want to have a bang for my buck and not pay for "Windows Tax" which didn't really do me any good. That extra moolah would have gone to better things than dangle in Redmond's pockets. This is a turning point as what Eric Raymond had said in his whitepaper "World Domination 201". And this time, the consumer has a lot to say about what the next dominant OS for the 64-bit platform will be. And cost-consciousness is one bullet the consumer holds that can make some vendor to go bite the dust. On 2/9/07, Jose P. Suria Jr. <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
Hmm...something worth reading. Why Windows Winshttp://www.linux-mag.com/id/2889/ I agree with Wawa about the Vista requiring a lot of upgrades on the hardware part. This article explains the implications. Peace, Miko. On 2/9/07, hard wyrd <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > MS just officially launched Vista as retail.
