i'd be a hypocrite if say i will never try vista if given the opportunity. im sure even mr. torvalds himself or his emissaries have taken time disecting vista to figure out what makes it tick or if mr. gates has some nasty secrets hidden in it. if i may say so id say let us be open minded about vista coz after all sooner we may depend on it somehow aside from the fact that sooner or later it will take over (80% or 90%) of the world, just like the old windows did (statistics say so). support for devices will follow sooner than expected. the unstoppable trend is going in that direction. so its either we pretend to the world that vista is sheeettt na malagkit, wala sa workplace pero naa sa balay, hahah! or welcome na lang, "chada man ang vista pero...(dili pwede sa hardware ko, huhuhu)... linux lang gypon ko, its da bes! err... pwede dual boot na lang?
i learnt about computers from my unwilling sponsor, microsoft (using pirated windows software). jose rizal said, 'ang hindi marunong lumingon sa pinangalingan ay higit pa sa malantsa at mabahong isda'. bang-bang-bang. aaahhh! na-igo kooo!!! mertayolet! ban-id da!ahhh...hellpp!!! consuelo de bobo ah, if you know what that means. ----- Original Message ----- From: "hard wyrd" To: [EMAIL PROTECTED], KLUG Subject: [klug] [OS-Win] Vista was launched... will you bite? Date: Fri, 9 Feb 2007 09:44:45 +0800 MS just officially launched Vista as retail. Big question, "Will you bite?". Considerations: 1. Driver - vendors still doesn't have a concrete driver set to allow their hardware to work with Vista. A lot of existing devices 2-3 years old doesn't have vista support. 2. Some critical applications doesn't quite cut it with Vista. 3. Does your existing hardware support, let alone run Vista? 4. Is the cost worth it? One last perspective, Vista in itself doesn't even have concrete support for Microsoft Exchange 2003 tools as well as Microsoft Exchange 2007 tools. Look at http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=946915&SiteID=17&PageID=0 What gives? Finally again, "Will you bite?". I think jumping off a cliff will be much more honorable. -- "A dog that has no bite, barks loudest."
