Hello Everyone,

I havent been that active in the community though i really take some time
reading the emails.

I just wanted to share something to every one in the group especially to
those who are into deploying, administering, or simply just using Joomla CMS
- based websites. I was in a Joomla workshop yesterday which was held at
NEC in UP Diliman, and was greatly honored because two of the core
developers of the system graced the event, namely Johan Jansenns of Belgium
and our very own kababayan, Rey Gigataras.

A number of Joomla enthusiasts and a few who are interested to use the
system from various organizations joined the workshop.

During the morning session, they demonstrated the power, flexibility, and
user friendliness of Joomla 1.0.10 ( the latest stable version is 1.0.12)
and discussed several issues and concerns of the 1.0.x versions. In the
afternoon session, they discussed the architecture behind Joomla 1.5, the
changes made in the look of the backend administration and the
functionalities. It is a lot easier to use and much more flexible than the
1.0.x versions they have released. As of the moment, they are still fixing
some bugs before they will have the final release of version 1.5.

The resource speakers are very proud of the community that they have. The
group is helping each other and is always ready to assist everyone who might
have problems related to Joomla. Also, there is a Joomla pinoy community (
www.joomla.org.ph). They're inviting all Joomla users, and those who are
interested to use and learn the system to join the community.
