The following are just a few of the weirdest operating systems I have
encountered. Just take a look.

Inferno (http://www.vitanuova.com/inferno/)
- this os can be stand-alone (installed), run as an application on other OS
platforms, or even exist as a plugin under IE. The OS comes with a graphical
manager, Unix-like command set, some applications, programming IDE, and
other features. Weird as it is, you will be curious to take this out for a
spin just to see what it is like.

Plan 9 (http://cm.bell-labs.com/plan9/)
- An old OS continually under development. Even older than Linux. Started by
Ken Thompson and friends at Bell Labs. This beast is just plain weird. It
supports only 30% of Unix commands and features and the rest are plainly out
of this world. You can edit/compose files anywhere on your screen! You can
start your document even while in the middle of reading a man page! Ah, just
visit their site for more. Just weird...
