Lua, since 1993 has been widely used in all sorts of applications. From
games, embedded systems, web development, light weight systems, etc..

Its just surprising that nobody is actively promoting Lua in the
Philippines. The most prevalent languages that I always encounter here were
mostly Java, Delphi, VB, Ruby, and the likes.

This language reminds me of a taunt in Red Alert -- "Fast and Light".

On the MMORPG side, LUA is used by Gravity in Ragnarok Online to run the
AI's of homunculus which help the player in the game but cannot be
controlled directly. Users are permitted to edit the scripts to their own
liking with just a few restrictions.
