I agree on this. As Master Botp said, "Ayaw ug tuo sa akoa. Testingi gyud." There are a lot of Linux distros. Though you will only need to use or be good at one, chances are, when somebody else asks your help and uses another distro, there might be differences. The only way to learn will be to encounter problems and errors, and lots of it. Not all documentation solves problems :). Mailing lists and forums are also great sources of info and most of them have situations that are not discussed in documentations.

Akong ma ingon ani , mas maayo kung dili ka mag salig sa mga tutorials pud. Try to be open minded, and try to run as much problems as you can. heheehhe..you'll learn something from it. Don't worry about crashing or messing up your OS, 'cause that's one way to learn. You'll learn the basics from the tutorials, but there are always other ways to get what you want. Plus configuration varies from on OS to another. Like for example, on SUSE. If you installed apache from the distro, then you'll probably have your httpd.conf with "includes" where the other configuration are found on other files, and if you compile that from source, you'll have an httpd.conf file that has everything on it. Aside from this, some features from other distros are not found on some other distros. So don't stick your mind to it, always keep an open mind. -- REGISTERED LINUX USER # 393260 there are 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't _________________________________________________ Kagay-Anon Linux Users' Group (KLUG) Mailing List [email protected] (http://cdo.linux.org.ph) Searchable Archives: http://archives.free.net.ph
