Call for Examinees: Linux Professional Institute Certification Exams (LPI 101 
and LPI 102)

Deadline for submission of applications:  12 October 2007, 6:00PM (GMT+8)


With its continuing goal to widen its net through its FOSS advocacy and further 
advancement of Linux professionals in the ASEAN region, IOSN ASEAN+3 is pleased 
to announce a Call for Examinees for LPI Level 1 Certification (LPI 101 and 
102).

The Linux Professional Institute (www.lpi.org) is a non-profit organization 
geared to provide professional certification for the Linux Community.  This 
would be an excellent opportunity for working professionals, students and 
interested individuals to get certified at a low cost.


Date of certification: 10 November 2007, Saturday
Venue: University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City, Philippines
Length of each examination: 90 minutes
Time: To be announced


EXAM FEES:

BEFORE October 24
                 Exam Package 1:   LPI 101 only USD60.00 (Php 2,760.00)
                 Exam Package 2:   LPI 102 only USD60.00 (Php 2,760.00)
                 Duo Package:  Both LPI 101 and 102 USD115.00 (Php 5,290.00)

AFTER October 24
                 Additional USD5.00 (Php 230.00) [for all exam packages]


We are looking at an initial group of a MAXIMUM of 20 people in the initial 
certification examination.


Who can apply?

*  Individuals who have previously trained under the IOSN ASEAN+3 LToTs who 
have not taken the exams and those who need to retake the exams (LPI 101 and/or 
102)

*  Other local individuals, working professionals, students, etc.

*  Individuals coming from outside Metro Manila and those from other countries 
will need to shoulder their own travel and accomodation expenses.


NOTE:  There will be NO LPI Level 1 Training to be held prior to the exams.

There are a range of certifications you can choose to certify against.   Please

We will organize more than one exam on the same day if there is sufficient 
demand (eg, 101 followed by 102 if there are sufficient people wanting to take 
102).

Do note that in order to encourage certification, the payment for certification 
is a bare minimum covering organizational costs only.
