Dot JAR files are usually java archives.Mao na ako common na nahibaw-an sa
iya.

But sa ako experience, it is used to make a collection of many files inthe
xpi format. The inside the xpi format pronouced "zippy", for creating
mozilla extensions, there is a .jar file. This jar is actually just a
normal ZIP file. You can use any normal compression software who can support
".zip". This file contains the folders to be used by the chrome protocol.
This jar file inside the .XPI file, has the same name sa the extension
itself and must be all in smallercase letter i think. Usually includes the
"content" folder, containing the XUL files that usually overlay or create
new elements on the outer part of the browser(not in the content area), and
the "skin" folder containing images and css files that define the overall
output of the extension. The .xpi is also just a ZIP file containing the
"chrome" folder with the ".jar" file. Also the "chrome.manifest" file and
the "install.rdf" file is inside the xpi. Chrome.manifest defines where to
find the files. install.rdf defines what the extension is all about. this is
the one which will come out when you go to "Tools->Add Ons" in firefox or
Netscape for example. Mao lang na ako experience.
