Perhaps this is an "anti-spam" service? I'm not sure. Hmnn... got the same notification as well. I think that people subscribed to boxbe should completely block emails coming from mailing lists or unsubscribe to boxbe if they wish to continue to receive mails from mailing lists. When we post to mailing lists we post to everyone subscribed to the list, we have no intention of sending a personal mail. If posters desire to do so, posters surely know how to get your private email so the poster can get in touch with you personally, then this is where your boxbe subscription will come in handy. I only received a few verification request from boxbe yet I'm annoyed. I understand how much of an annoyance it would be for frequent posters. If boxbe subscribers are using gmail I'm certain that they would see no need to subcribe to boxbe as gmail filters can pretty much to the job of filtering out unwanted mails. Maybe it does not work for everyone, but it works for me. I've got several filters that sorts out my emails while gmail's spam filter filters out hundreds of spam a week for me. And like hardwyrd, I'm filtering out all human verification requests from boxbe. Boxbe could, for all we know, be probably gathering a lot of valid emails to spam to. I hope not. Maybe they wouldn't that but if their database is compromised it's thousands of valid email there to spam. _________________________________________________ Kagay-Anon Linux Users' Group (KLUG) Mailing List [email protected] (http://cdo.linux.org.ph) Searchable Archives: http://archives.free.net.ph
