Was able to do a board swap before with Seagate STRxxxx models, both 10Gb
capacity. Got the data off the defective drive and ditched it afterwards.
You really cannot trust a drive that already has undergone "surgery".

Again, it is way too risky to open up the hard drive more like "open heart
surgery".
