stipend are funded by Colleges. It is normal for recipients to undertake study
on a full-time basis. However, in accordance with strict criteria, the
scholarship may be awarded for part-time study. International scholars must
undertake study on a full-time basis.

Australian Government foreign aid program provides for a limited number of
scholarships for international students from developing countries to study in
Australia. These scholarships are administered by the Australian Agency for

Australian Development Scholarships The Australian Development Scholarships
(ADS) are available to many countries under agreements for development

ENDEAVOUR AWARDS The Endeavour Program aims to strengthen bilateral ties
between Australia and participating countries; showcase Australia's education
sector to the world; strengthen mutual understanding between the people of
participating countries; further develop Award holders' knowledge and skills in
their field of study, and create/strengthen linkages between Australian higher
education institutions and institutions in participating countries.
There are a number of Endeavour Awards available including the Endeavour
International Postgraduate Research Scholarships listed below. The website

Endeavour International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (EIPRS) The
Endeavour International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (EIPRS) are

Education, Science and Training (DEST). Because competition for the
scholarships is intense, at ANU they are not awarded for study at the Master
degree level. Successful applicants will study in areas in which the University
has shown a particular research concentration.

Zinkernagel Scholarship The Zinkernagel Scholarship is in honour of
Professor Rolf Zinkernagel, who shared the Nobel Prize for Physiology or
Medicine with Professor Peter Doherty in 1996 for work done in the JCSMR. One
Zinkernagel Scholarship will be awarded annually to the highest ranked
successful JCSMR, (College of Medicine and Health Sciences) applicant for an
Endeavour International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (EIPRS).
