Job title : Business Analyst ****** STRONG FINANCIAL Background ****** Location : NYC, NY Contract Length : 1+year Job Description: * The BA will coordinate and own the gathering and defining of business requirements and will be expected to: * Liaise directly with business users and other business analysts to define and clearly document requirements * Produce Business Requirements and Functional specification documents supported by Use Case artifacts * Communicate and deliver specifications and requirements to Business Sponsors, Developer and QA groups for review and sign-off * Complete gap analysis, data analysis, workflow analysis where required in the project * Support best practice methodologies including appropriate use of SDLC+ * Work closely with Developers during build lifecycle * Work closely with Quality Assurance during test lifecycle * Work with Support groups to advise on data set up in the application and complete data set up tasks when required * Prepare User documentation, Training material and Application Release Notes when required * Ensure a high standard of documentation is maintained in the knowledge repository and on the project SharePoint website * Gap analysis, data analysis, workflow analysis. REQUIRED: RUP Microsoft Office, MS Project, Visio, Mercury Quality Center, SQL, UML, SDLC * At least 5+ years of experience working in/for Investment Banking domain. * 3 to 4 years work experience preferably in financial industry in a Business Analyst and/or Project Manager role. * Experience working as BA on Sales Credit & Commission systems is strongly desired. * Experience with Business Information Tools and delivery such as Reporting Services, Performance Point, Excel. * Concentrated industry expertise in Equities and Fixed Income. Familiarity with Business Objects reporting tools a plus. * Experience with Cross Reference Data Hierarchies a plus. * Microsoft Office, MS Project, Visio, Mercury Quality Center, SQL, UML Use Case and related methodologies, familiarity with SDLC Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills. * Candidates expected to be able to demonstrate skills in specification and requirements writing. * Business Objects experience is a big plus.
