job details are given below.
Position: Sys Admin HP-UX
Location: Phoenix, AZ.
Duration: 1-3 years
HP C&I is pursuing an opportunity to place a Red Hat Linux resource on a
long term project. The required technical skills and experience are detailed
below
Resource will be responsible for overall management of HPC Cluster (Red Hat
Linux Cluster).
Resource Profile/Requirements
. HPC and HP hardware knowledge/experience
. HPC Administration/Management
. HP Cluster Management Utility (CMU) expertise
. Redhat Linux (RHCE certified preferred)
. 3-5 years of experience with Red Hat Linux
. 2 years experience with HPC Linux Clustering Environment
. XC experience a plus
. May have some off hours request to compliment the remote
support/monitoring during critical outages
Tasks
Good Technical Documentation Skills
. Excellent communications skills (verbal and written)
. System Administration, IMAC support on HP HPC environment
(Blades/Proliant servers)
. Monitor HPC Cluster ticket queue in the customer-standard ticket
management system on an 8x5 basis (Arizona Time)
. Respond to alerts generated by the Customer standard monitoring
tool.
. Resolve the ticket according to its severity level per the
documented SLAs.
. Assign and create user IDs
. Delete existing user IDs / accounts
. Assign and change user passwords
. Create, maintain and delete user profiles per Customer standard
. Grant user access and authorization per Customer standard
processes
. Create and modify user login/logon scripts per Customer standard
processes
. Control the amount of disk space on servers for users as defined
by Customer
. Assign and delete home directories
. Create and maintain user groups per Customer standards
. Enable and disable shared resources as per Customer standard
procedures
. Provide access to print and file directory as per Customer
standard procedures
. Setup and modify full names as per Customer standard procedures
. Restrict logon / login to specific servers as per Customer
procedures
. Manage disk and disk allocation for the HPC Cluster environment
. Creation of node images and re-imaging of nodes as required
. Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on Problems in the HPC Cluster
environment
. Documenting the operational landscape of the HPC cluster
. Reporting Metric on operational (health/utilization) aspects and
assets
. Assist with operational / maintenance (primary caller to HP
support/maint)
. Patching and backup of HPC cluster
. Capacity monitoring and allocation of cluster resources
. Change management
. 3rd party coordination
. Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) activities
