Oracle DB Developer III This includes database design and implementation as well as production support. Some of the responsibilities of the Database Developer III include working with product managers to refine requirements, using Erwin to model any schema changes, writing stored procedures and SQL queries to support the application developers, writing ETL code (for Data Warehouse), tuning queries for performance, and managing the scripts used to deploy the database. Some of these responsibilities may be shared with other Database Developers. In addition, the Database Developer III also provides production support for database-related activities, such as ad-hoc queries to meet customer needs, debugging and patching production code, and analyzing the performance of production databases and tweaking the code to improve this performance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: Be the expert for some technical aspects of the product Work closely with Database Lead to design and implement components in timely manner Develop and execute unit tests for product components Provide accurate work estimates for proposed projects Actively lead or participate in resolving key issues that impact the performance of the team Present creative solutions to internal teams when possible Work with QA to ensure high quality of delivered product Cross-train other database developers on product features implemented Contribute ideas to improve product functionality, maintainability or performance *SKILLS / EXPERIENCE: * *Required: * 7+ years of software development experience 5+ years of hands-on database development experience in high transaction volume systems Expert at writing and tuning complex SQL queries Expert at database procedural languages such as Oracle PL/SQL and/or Informix SPL Experience with Oracle databases preferred, but willing to consider Informix or DB2 experience Experience with Oracle BIEE and/or other reporting/Business Intelligence tools Data Mart / Data Warehouse development experience Willingness and desire to quickly respond to production support issues Experience working with product managers/business analysts to review and refine requirements Experience working with application developers to translate requirements into efficient implementation Experience with data modeling tools such as Erwin Team player *Desirable:* Familiarity with several server-side application development technologies and issues Shell scripting experience *ACCOUNTABILITY: * The Database Developer III is accountable for all of the items listed above including items that may be in whole or in part a function of the Core Development team.
