Position: Senior DB2/Unix/Perl Developer Location: NYC Duration: Long Term Rate: Open Experience Level 5-10 Skills Required Experience (5+ years) in DB2 programming Good knowledge of Perl, K-Shell, or other Unix/Linux scripting languages Candidate should have good communication skills, both written and oral. He/she would be interacting with business analysts and users to gather and document requirements during the analysis phase, and interact with other technical staff and management through the complete development Lifecycle The candidate should be self-motivated and have a proven record of managing their own time and work. He/She will need to provide regular status reporting to their manager and be able to assess potential issues and risks to project timelines. Experience in medium to large scale development projects and teams Skills Desired client-serverExperience working in a distributed environment doing some database development in a large scale RDBMS (Sybase a plus) Business knowledge including financial applications such as general ledger accounting and other financial products will be a plus Unix, Perl and DB2 component development skills. The project involves building reporting data marts, standardized reference data dimensions with versions. Project covers a broad range of usage including Compliance/Regulatory Reporting, Financial Reporting, Operational and Management Reporting. The project will leverage advanced database technologies such as metadata, multithreading, parallel access and load principles, open architecture leveraging XML protocol and Web development.
