Title: VB.NET VBA Equities NYC Location: NYC Duration: 3+ Months Rate: Give me your best Job Description The scope of the developer role involves significant development and support effort working in a small application development group deployed globally. This current contractor vacancy is for a senior experienced, hands-on VB.Net and VBA developer with up-to-date knowledge of the latest development tools. The candidate should be particularly skilled in MS Word-related development featuring significant interaction with Sybase databases. Role focus is on maintaining, supporting and enhancing existing production applications used by Equity Research staff. Development effort will be focused on using MS Word, VB.Net, VBA, ASP.Net and Sybase databases. The role also encompasses third-level application support. The broader application suite used by Equity Research includes additional applications running under UNIX/LINUX and based on Java/WebLogic/PERL. Knowledge of those environments and tools would be useful. These duties will require contact with IT and Equity Research staff. The role will provide exposure to many aspects of the Equity Research business. Prior experience supporting Equity Research would be useful. The role will involve participating in several SDLC phases. The candidate should be a hands-on developer in the Construction phase and able to participate in the System Integration Test phase. The role will include collaboration with staff in Europe and Asia and some work time will need to overlap with Asia hours for development discussions, weekly status reporting or hand offs.
