Position: Business Analyst with Project Management Exp Location: NEW YORK CITY, NY Duration: 6+ Months Description: Business Analyst / Project Manager for an accounting implementation project Key Responsibilities: This individual will work closely with the Product Control (PC) and Financial Accounting (FA) clients to understand requirements and interface with multiple development teams to satisfy business requests or to assist with defining solutions for firm compliance. This role will entail liaising with business units and IT groups to gather, document, analyze and communicate the needs and requirements of the business users. Project management responsibilities are also entailed in the position to participate in project planning sessions and to manage SDLC deliverables across various groups within a specific time frame. Business Analysis .Partner with business and IT stakeholders to gather, document, analyze and communicate requirements .Leverage business knowledge to construct functional specifications and work with Development teams on SDLC activities Project Management .Define the scope of work, project plans and deliverables .Document assumptions and manage expectations if they are invalidated .Develop and manage project schedule; Status tracking and reporting .Creating and using protocols and templates for project planning/tracking, status, issues/risks/actions reporting .Preparation and distribution of Weekly/Monthly Reporting Experience and Skills Required/Desired: .Strong understanding of PC and FA processes and systems .Prior experience on US GAAP and / or IFRS projects preferred .Strong knowledge of financial products .Solid business analysis experience .Solid project management experience .Proven track record working within an Investment Banking Financial data related environment .Experienced in use of Excel, Access and /or other data aggregation / manipulation tools .Ability to work in a fast paced environment under tight timelines .Excellent attention to detail .Ability to identify issues, recognize root causes and take appropriate action or recommend possible scenarios to solve problems .A self starter, the candidate must be able to demonstrate a strong track record of working both independently and within a team, using one's own initiative to provide robust and timely solutions .Ability to manage own work plan and schedule to successfully meet goals with tight deadlines and minimal supervision .Flexibility and openness to change .Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
