***** Immediately Needed A Consultant ***** Data Modeler with ERwin Location : San Francisco, CA Duration : 6+ Month Contract Rate : OPEN Description: We are seeking a senior data analyst/designer with extensive logical data modeling experience to join our data warehouse team. This role will be an integral part of the data modeling team, responsible for performing requirements analysis, logical and physical data model design, development, documentation and deployment. Our environment includes ERwin Data Modeler and Model Manager (r7.3), Teradata, SQLServer, AbInitio, Unix, Windows, and Autosys. Responsibilities include: Designing, building, and maintaining logical data model for data warehouse data source; Developing and maintaining metadata content for data warehouse data sources; Assess Business Requirement documents and translate them into logical data designs/models; Working closely with business users to verify business and data requirements and provide best-practice consulting, when needed; Maintaining standardized data design, development and deployment task documentation. Partner with Business Analysts for data requirements gathering and design Working with the Business Systems Consultant and the business partners on projects to identify and validate project business requirements; Provide level of effort estimates for new project work, enhancements, fixes; Working closely with ETL developers, DBA's, Report developers, and Data Architect to design and implement shared architecture; Conducting training for both technical and business users; Provide user support and answering metadata related questions; Maintaining standardized development, testing, and deployment documentation; Establishing and maintaining common data definitions for database users in order to eliminate data redundancy and to improve data integrity; The ideal candidate will have: 8+ years of proven data modeling (logical and physical) experience in a large enterprise data warehousing and analytics domain; Knowledge of data modeling best practices and tools, including minimum of three years of experience using CA ERwin for the development and maintenance of logical and physical database designs; Experience in developing and maintaining database standards; Significant requirements analysis background, must be able to understand business context, requirements, and business definitions; Experience with ERwin Model Mart for modeling and design; Working knowledge of Teradata relational database; Strong SQL skills and experience with regular expressions, correlated sub-queries and complex view. Preference for Teradata relational database; Experience working in a structured, multi-person development environment; Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with customers, management, and technical staff. Must have experience interacting with business partners and delivering presentations to both business and technical audiences; Experience in Financial Services or Banking preferable.
