Work Location: SF Position Title: Senior Applications Programmer
Desired Start Date: 7/1/2009 Duration: 5 Months Title: Lead support, Provider Portal DAY-TO-DAY ACTIVITIES: . Primary focus is on production support of the Provider Portal This will normally include coding/unit testing SCRs (Service Change Requests) to change or enhance business logic. Development and support, working in a blended team. . Secondary focus will be infrastructure support: JTest / Ultraseek / JProbe. . Maintain and support existing web applications in business units based on user requirements. . Implement user requirements under strict time lines through the process of development, testing, QA and deployment. . Provide technical expertise for J2EE, JSP and JHTML solutions using WAS/ATG technologies . Develop custom components where applicable . Support other applications as needed . Design new components and applications . Work with the team to resolve issues/requests and escalate issues when appropriate. . Troubleshoot/resolve user problems and provide developers and programmers with necessary information Required Skills: * 8 years of J2EE and Java programming experience. * Experience with Web Sphere Application Developer (WSAP) and Rational Application Developer. * 2 years of experience in implementing ATG app server based applications using DAF and Personalization servers. * Strong understanding of Java programming best practices. * Strong understanding of JSP, AJAX, XML, XSLT and basic UI - Technologies * Excellent programming knowledge in using JAXB and JAXP API's. * Strong Programming knowledge of JMS, MQ Application programming interfaces. * Strong understanding of SDLC processes and methodologies * Experienced with relational database SQL * Experience working with UNIX, Oracle, and SQL scripts. * Strong analytical, problem solving, and production diagnostic skills. * Experience with JProbe, JMeter and Jtest tools. Skills Optional: * Test Driven Development (TDD) experience * Experience with version control systems (e.g. Subversion, PVCS, etc.) * Experience with bug / issue tracking systems (Bugzilla, Merant). * Experience with Ultraseek Search engine features.
