The Strategic Technologies Software Engineer - Advanced works for the KP-IT Organization. The Desired Candidate will focus on Search Engine development and support, including search administration. Support will include assisting business users with questions, troubleshooting both business and technical issues, and the application itself (upgrades etc.). In addition, the position will partner with the following staff: system administrators who manage web servers; Project Managers for technical consultation; and business partners for requirements and feedback. In addition, the position may be required to complete the following tasks: troubleshoot/unit test sites prior to production launch and partner with other KP-IT staff on site requirements. Working knowledge of Verity, Vivisimo or Autonomy search products a must. A Bachelor's degree, or equivalent/experience, in Computer Science or a related discipline, and 3-6 years of search development or relevant technical experience, JavaScript is required. Broad experience with Web development, systems and software engineering methods, tools, and server logs are required. Candidate must have strong inter-personal skills. Must have 5 years: Knowledge of and experience with Search Engine Technology, Preferred: -4 years Knowledge of and experience with XML and XSLT a must. -3 years Additional responsibilities will include vendor knowledge/experience to ensure product knowledge is captured by both IT and business partners and maintenance for current sites utilizing web analytics. Provide leadership and direction for assigned business area, vendors, and consultants.
