JOB DESCRIPTION - DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Client has created a new Rich Media distribution platform called Reuters
Insider which will deliver a series of next-generation information services
for market professionals. Reuters Insider pioneers the flexible, Internet
Protocol (IP) delivery of video and other multimedia content coupled with
advanced software services to provide enhanced discoverability,
interactivity and personalization of information for end users. As part of
this initiative, Thomson Reuters has developed exclusive programming
providing premium access to Thomson Reuters editorial resources. Reuters
Insider also extends streamlined, rich media production capabilities to
financial institutions, research firms and other media producers while
facilitating the distribution of select partner content alongside Reuters
Insider Programming to aggregate access to key sources of information for
end users.

 

The Product Manager will be responsible for analyzing and making
recommendations to improve search, recommendations and metadata within the
application.  The successful candidate will gather and prioritize
requirements, define the product roadmap, and work closely with development
and/or third party vendors, to deliver improvements in the products. 

 

Responsibilities include:

 

.           Analyzing video search ranking and display and recommending
enhancements

.           Drive improvements throughout the product based on deep
understanding of how metadata is generated and its level of accuracy

.           Understanding, analyzing and documenting customer requirements
around search and personalized recommendations

.           Researching market and competitive offerings

.           Prioritizing requirements with stakeholders

.           Working with other groups to integrate services into other
Thomson Reuters products

.           Working with software development teams to drive requirements
implementation  

 

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS - REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

 

Education and Experience: 

 

.           Bachelor's degree is a MUST

.           Minimum of 3 - 10 years experience as a (Software) Product
Manager (shipping software out to market)

.           Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products

.           MUST have online video experience 

.           Excellent written and verbal communication skills

.           Experience writing Comprehensive Functional Requirements

.           Excellent teamwork skills

.           Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without
formal authority

.           Experience with one or more of the following would be a plus (in
order from largest plus to smallest)

o          Experience with Television or Production 

o          Experience with Information Architecture 

o          Financial markets

o          Working on projects with external development and test
organizations

o          Agile software development

 

Key skills:

.           Working with stakeholders to define priorities.

.           Writing Functional Requirement Specifications.

.           Working with internal development teams as well as third party
vendors.
