Position Summary: Responsible for implementing programs for acquiring data from the source systems, cleansing and transforming the data to a format appropriate for use in decision-making, and loading it into the target database structures; working closely with source system experts and the business analyst to understand the rules for transforming from source to target database structures; working with a meta data driven transformation engine to implement the transformations; designing and implementing complex transformations. Familiarity with SQL, CWDirect source systems, and DataStage required. Essential Responsibilities: · Design, code, and test complex ETL processes from requirements and data schema documentation with little or no ramp-up time. · Effectively mentor beginning DataStage coders while also delivering on assigned programs. · Deliver quality ETL designs, code, and testing against a tight assigned schedule. · Analyze sources of required data methods of retrieval. · Construct and document alternative systems and solutions for given projects and problems. · Plan and complete projects within schedules and achieve milestones. · Develop methods for measuring the accuracy of new and modified systems, and for controlling access to sensitive information. · Keep current with programming best practices and operational requirements. · Share in the responsibility for software support with other members of the programming staff, both during office hours and outside of office hours. · Apply best practices for efficient data retrieval across multiple platforms. · Establish file requirements and processing specifications. · Recommends solutions to problems regarding programming applications, and provides advice and support to programmers. Essential Experience: · Actual experience with SQL, CWDirect source systems, and DataStage in a business setting required. · Guenuine expertise in DataStage required · Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience, with minimum of 3 years of programming in DataStage experience · Programming, analysis, and design experience · History with catalog, retail, marketing or supply chain applications preferred. · Computer experience i.e.: Excel, MS Word, Outlook.
