Systems Engineer for a 90-day project Pay is $55/hr C2C Washington DC Project starts on October 1st, 2009. NEED LOCALS Sites will be Manheim, Germany; Vicenza, Italy; and Seoul, Korea (Yongsan) with 30-days at each site. Travel and miscellaneous hours for travel, after-hours work, and pre-work coordination will be paid for by end client directly to candidate. The candidate will work as a core team member and system technology expert. In particular, the Systems Engineer will be responsible for leading security systems engineering efforts in order to achieve government certification and accreditation for the existing network systems in several international sites in Europe and Asia. The candidate will be required to adhere to security requirements and mandates to maintain the security posture of the network architecture in collaboration with other network, security, and systems engineers. The successful candidate will interface extensively with and coordinate with customer counterparts/stakeholders to ensure that key security architectural constructs are understood. The successful candidate will be the system security subject matter expert for the international sites and be responsible for managing the tasks, resources, risks and issues within his/her functional realm. Job location is in the Washington, DC metro area with extensive travel to Europe and Asia. Required skills In-depth experience with information assurance, vulnerability assessment, and risk mitigation for Microsoft OS environments. In depth understanding of Microsoft technologies to include Microsoft Exchange 2003 Server and Active Directory. UNIX, MAC and/or Linux operating system experience. Experience configuring, maintaining and administering Cisco switches and routers, and CheckPoint firewalls. Knowledge of Mandatory Access Control Level II. Significant understanding of DIACAP certification and accreditation, security technical implementation guides (STIG) implementation and information assurance vulnerability assessment (IAVA) compliance. Acquired skills and experience in various phases of system engineering (e.g. requirements analysis, development, systems integration and test, and in verification and validation of functional requirements). The ability to effectively interface with Customer and engineering staff.
