*2 contract positions*
The contractors will be involved in software development to build,
integrate, extend and support a suite of applications used our Investor
Relations and Servicing groups. These tools are / will be predominately
written in C# using the latest Microsoft .NET technologies (including WCF,
WPF and ASP.NET); they are / will be integrated into business processes
using a Business Process Management (BPM) system; Linux servers also support
some systems.
The successful contractor will be involved throughout the lifecycle of these
tools from requirements capture with the Business, through development,
integration and support in a team environment. Strong communication skills
are critical, as are disciplined software development skills and a high
level of self motivation.
Skills requirements include:
* be skilled in object oriented analysis and design, including
an understanding of design patterns and architectural frameworks;
* have a solid grounding in an OO language, ideally C# but
could be C++;
* be comfortable using SQL both directly to a database from a
command-line but also from code (ideally using technologies such as
ADO.NETor similar);
* be able to design and implement GUIs that are usable, robust
and extensible;
* have experience in building systems from front to back, from
a client UI through to a server(s) providing underlying business
functionality;
* be proficient in a scripting language such as Perl or
Python;
* be comfortable working within a Linux environment via the
command line;
* be comfortable working within a Windows environment as both
a user and a .NET developer;
* have an understanding of Microsoft .NET technologies such as
ASP.NET, WCF and WPF;
* have experience using Clearcase for source code control;
