Duration: Long Term Rate: Open Location: PA Essential duties and responsibilities: 1. Provide technical leadership to data warehouse and business intelligence solutions for Penn National. 2. You will work with DBAs, Analysts, Engineering/Infrastructure, QA/ Test, and Project Managers to enable business requirements with appropriate technology solutions. 3. Ability to analyze existing business processes and make improvement recommendations.. 4. Ability to take a business need and turn it into a requirement that can be turned over for development. 5. Ability to develop detail design and mapping requirements. 6. Experience creating functional specifications and source to target mapping documents. 7. Experience with industry standard data warehousing tools including; quality and analysis tools, reporting tools, SQL, etc... 8.. Understanding of project lifecycles and required artifacts. 9. Knowledge of data warehouse methodologies and dimensional modeling. 10. Able to highlight issues and problems and convey complex. 11. Collaborate with peers and share ideas synergistically 12. Hands on understanding of data modeling and data analysis (data profiling) for Data Warehouse development 13. Work with a team of technical specialists to design, develop, document, and implement data warehouse, data mart and business intelligence solutions. 14. Participate in meetings with business owners and external vendors to determine, define, and document projects needs and requirements, while maintaining and adhering to company standards and procedures. 15. Coordinate third/fourth level operational support for implemented solutions. Technical Job Requirements: 6+ years experience in AS400and/or distributed technology with at least 4 of those years in data warehousing, data marts, and data management, must have gaming experience. 6+ Excellent documentation experience; ability to translate business information requirements into logical/physical data models and corresponding ETL specifications 5+ Extensive modeling and data analysis experience in both OLTP and OLAP environments, strong knowledge of Erwin tool. 5 + years as an Teradata database developer or similar capacity. 3 + years experience working in a multi terabyte environment 3+ years of Unix, ETL experience including DTS (Genio experience preferred) 3 + years experience working with data reporting and direct marketing applications (Teradata CRM and Cognos) 5 + years scripting Familiarity with Teradata infrastructure technologies (MPP, Nodes, AMP). Skills and attributes required for this position include: • Impeccable oral and written communication skills are required • Demonstrated, hands-on technical leadership • Exemplify teamwork in accomplishing company goals with a variety of operating system environments including Unix, Windows and Solaris • Solid analysis and problem solving skills • Experience with multiplatform environments • Broad understanding of data warehouse and business intelligence technologies and tools • Ability to foresee/understand enterprise-related dependencies • Experience with both enterprise-wide and specialty applications in a large highly distributed organization • Candidate must be able to handle in-depth involvement in multiple projects in a high-paced environment, while maintaining stringent standards of quality • Experience working in a staged release environment with change/ release management controls • Experience with QA concepts for insuring data quality • Experience with disaster recovery and backup technologies and implementations • Ability to work within a virtual team environment and contribute to the overall timely delivery of multiple projects • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and proactively pursue incremental improvements.
