(Senior Java Developer - Portal) - U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED
Job Description:
Responsible for the development and support of business applications that
support the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting Systems (DEERS) at
Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC). Identifies and organizes detailed user
and technology information requirements. Designs, develops, implements, and
supports business applications using Java technologies. Coordinates and
collaborates with others in analyzing collected requirements to ensure plans
and identified solutions meet customer needs and expectations. Builds,
confirms and prioritizes project plans and deliverables with the client.
Develops and executes unit test plans, ensuring that results are documented
and reviewed with Quality Assurance teams responsible for integrated
testing. Develops technical documentation in support of new development,
upgrades, and enhancements. All work to be performed on site, no
telecommuting.
· Interacts with the client and business analysts to gain an
understanding of the business and technological requirements.
· Analyzes requirements and develops technical design.
· Develops technical specifications document.
· Develops code.
· Develops and executes unit test plans.
· Develops and maintains technical documentation.
· Applies metrics to monitor performance.

- Strong Analytical, Problem Solving and Development Skills
- Self-Starter
Technology Requirements:
- JAVA/J2EE including Servlets, JDBC, JAVA Beans, JMIS, JSP, XML, and
XSLT.
- Apache Struts, Spring, Log4J, Ant, JUnit, and CVS.
- Experience with portlet development is a plus.
- Knowledge of and experience in Internet services architecture and
Web-based programming languages in order to develop and
implement web sites
related to personnel selection and classification. This
includes experience
with JAVA-based web development, HTML and JAVA script.
- Working experience with RDBMS (Oracle) and demonstrated ability to
write SQL statements as required.
- Oracle J Developer, SUN One Studio is desired, including application
deployment.
