*Please Send resumes to* [email protected] *Job Title :* Sr.ETL Consultant *Location :* Santa Barbara, CA *Duration :* Long term *Job Description :* ** *Data Warehouse* • Maintain and refine the ETL architecture used by the company. • Develop and maintain the ETL scripts that acquire data from various source systems to load information into the Staging Area, the Data Warehouse and Data Marts. • Participate in the design of the Data Warehouse staging layers and Data Marts, working with DBAs to design the logical and physical data models to support the ETL solutions. • Identify and develop opportunities to utilize objects and code where appropriate, to reduce development effort and enforce consistent business rules. • Participate in unit testing, QA and transition of developed code to Release environment. • Participate in the development and maintenance of the Meta Data Repository *Business Intelligence* • Understand key business drivers • Contribute to the overall development of the BI initiative within the company • Contribute to analysis and design based upon business requirements • Provide input and feedback to the vision of the overall BI Strategy • Communicate BI strategy and concepts to other business users *Organization management* • Work closely with other Engineering departments to ensure that the BI Data Warehouse development is tightly aligned with their development pipeline • Clearly document all transformation logic and ETL code to company standards. • Work in a small team environment and support team members where needed • Participate in establishing new standards and processes for BI • Participate in recruiting employees and consultants • Provide prioritization, planning and estimating feedback to project lead • Communicate clearly task status, progress and problems to project lead *Other Duties and Responsibilities *(Responsibilities/important duties performed occasionally or in addition to the essential duties of the position.) • Adhere to the Best Practices and Methodologies of the company • Research and assess new technologies in the areas of BI, DW and ETL Supervisory Responsibilities (If applicable, provide the number and titles of employees supervised.) • Mentoring less experienced team members to improve their ETL knowledge and tool proficiency. *Knowledge and Skills *(Indicate which are required, preferred, or desirable. Include degrees, licenses and certificates.) • 5+ years experience developing ETL solutions within a Data Warehouse environment • 2+ years experience using Business Objects Data Integrator to develop ETL solutions within a Data Warehouse environment • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining high volume ETL processes loading a Data Warehouse including Accumulating Snapshots, Slowly Changing Dimensions and ClickStreams. • Solid understanding of Data Warehousing concepts (Kimball, Inmon, etc.) • Strong understanding of Dimensional Data Modeling • Strong working knowledge of Oracle environment • Good SQL and Stored Procedure development skills • Good understanding of the Agile/Scrum methodology for project management • Experience of broad range of ETL tools (emphasis on Business Objects) • Experience of BI Reporting tools (emphasis on Business Objects) • Knowledge of Master Data Management • Knowledge of Linux environment • Knowledge of SDLC and Agile development methodologies • BA or B.Sc. in Computer Science or related field • Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision • Results oriented attitude • Good verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to work and communicate effectively with IT personnel and Business users. • Good presentation skills. • Must have a team player mentality and must realize that the BI team is cannot work independently from the rest of the company • Must pay careful attention to details Thanks and Regards *Raju* Resource Specialist Saphire Solutions Inc.
