Experience building and maintaining high performance production databases in Clustered and Virtualized environments. Secondary responsibility: Oracle RDBMS database administration. *Accountable for managing and administering SQL 2000, 2005 and SQL 2008 databases in a highly virtualized, highly available environment. * Accountable for changes and incident management; maintenance of the databases, including rollouts and upgrades, as well as testing and approving patching. *Perform the level 2 support, as required, adhering to on-call processes and problem escalation processes. *Ensure disaster recovery planning and implementation as business demands. *Must have extensive experience production experience with RDBMS concepts on large systems and familiarity with Win2K3 operating system. *Must have extensive experience at using SQLServer in virtualized environments. *Must be experienced at creating, maintaining and enhancing support documentation and technical drawings; designing and implementing of scalable, highly available, global data architecture, including the deployment of technologies/concepts such as Service Broker, SQL replication, SQL clustering, Database mirroring, log shipping, data integration, ETL, master data management, and data warehouses. *Must possess the following technical skills: Data transformation services, SQL Query Analyzer, SQL Profiler, backup and recovery procedures among other required skills. *Must demonstrate an understanding of systems development processes and business processes. *Experience using defined ITIL processes, supporting database requirements for Oracle and SqlServer. Excellent communication and documentation skills required Must be flexible and reliable. This position is in support of one of our biggest customers. This position may be required to work a night or day shift and be on call.
