Job Title: Cisco Consultant Duration: 6+ months Location: Kansas City, KS Hourly rate: $30/hr 2 Positions Job Description: Should be able to support the build out of the virtual lab VPNs and lab network requirements for Pac Rim companies to be able to pre-cert their devices against our lab elements Lab integration, set up of VPNs, testing and documentation of Lab as-built implementation will maximize the volume of tests performed enabling problems to be identified quicker and eliminating delays introduced during testing cycles Supply resources with the following characteristics; Resources will be able to work independently Resources with a CCNA to CCNP level of network knowledge and experience on Cisco devices and routing protocols and troubleshooting and implementing IP VPNs Must be able to work in a diverse customer environment supporting customers in Japan, Korea, and the U.S. Should have good communications skills, both written and oral, using English as primary language. Must be able to support diverse customers on phone and in person. Must be willing to be on call and work diverse shifts. Experience on Enterprise network devices (Cisco 7000 & 6000 series routers and switches) A firm understanding of network subnetting. Knowledge of network routing and dynamic routing protocols including but not limited to: OSPF – Open Shortest Path EIGRP – Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol RIP – Routing Information Protocol BGP – Border Gateway Protocol (A Plus) IS-IS – Intermediate System to Intermediate System (A Plus) Basic knowledge of network security best practices and management Experience with firewall management, configuration, implementation, & integration (Experience with Juniper enterprise firewalls a definite plus) Basic knowledge of a variety of enterprise system servers and operating system and how they function. (Sun, HP, IBM, Dell: Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, Linux, & Windows) Ability to be able to manage your time and work in a complex, high pace, moderately stressful environment. Must have experience setting up and troubleshooting VPNs on PIX or ASA firewall devices/modules.
