Position: WebSphere Production Support

 

*** This person will be supporting Websphere application server-this
includes but not limited to: installation, configuration & patching server.
Supporting and responding to issues to restore system. This is not a
developer position, please do not submit developers. Person should have
Managed and supported Websphere servers running applications in a operations
mode***

 

Description: 

 

We are seeking a Senior Production Application Support to Provide Level 2
(Operational SME) support for enterprise applications and their components
to ensure application availability to the business. Proactively monitor
applications, changes and incidents to maintain service levels. Administer
and enforce IT standards/processes.

Essential Job Functions:

*       Provide primary support and trouble-shooting to resolve issues
impacting application operations
*       Respond to monitoring alerts to quickly identify trouble source and
implement resolution to avoid or reduce duration of an outage
*       Deploy releases, enhancements, and upgrades or new apps into
production to stabilize the environment 
*       As needed for new infrastructure, install and configure middleware
and vendor application software to build new environments
*       Provide technical solutions to automate processes or functions to
improve business operations
*       Develop corresponding operations and support procedures for
application operations
*       Continually monitor and tune application infrastructure to assure
optimal performance, availability and utilization of resources
*       Develop and continually refine restore or recovery procedures for
errors impacting application operations
*       Designs and develops scripts to automate manual tasks related to
operations and maintenance 
*       Reports to managers and supervisors, advising performance as related
to application operations
*       Escalate issues per policy to higher tier support resources and
management as necessary
*       Administer and enforce IT standards and processes 
*       On-call 24x7 responsibilities and shift work possible

 

Qualifications:

*       BA/BS degree or equivalent experience and training in Information
Technology (IT)
*       4-5 years experience in IT-related operations and support role
*       Strong knowledge of Websphere Application Server, IIS or other
application middleware
*       Tivoli Monitoring tool
*       Working knowledge for system administration in UNIX and/or Windows
operating systems
*       Working knowledge of SQL scripting
*       TriZetto NetworX StandaloneT or FacetsT experience - desirable
*       Healthcare/Payer operations experience - desirable 
*       Strong analytical skills, organized and detail-oriented;
self-directed
