At least 5 years experience developing enterprise software
applications in a corporate, commercial, or institutional environment.
Minimum 2 years VSTO programming experience, Office 2007 preferred.
Minimum 3 years programming in Microsoft C# and SQL Server (Transact
SQL). Required Skills: .NET Framework (Common Language Runtime, .NET
Framework Class Library, C#, Object Oriented Programming/Design, VSTO
for Excel 2007, Unit Testing particularly for Excel 2007. Desired
Skills: Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server source control & work
item tracking, software testing and methodologies, Windows and IIS
server technology, familiarity with Microsoft Solutions Framework or
software development lifecycles, JavaScript, AJAX, Web Forms, XML Web
Services, XML, SQL Server Reporting Services, T-SQL.
Responsibilities:
A contract programmers will augment a software development team of
six, on a Project Controls application that will distinguish my client
from their competitors. This application includes many pieces that are
written in Excel 2007 using VSTO, with C#, that allow the application
to be disconnected and perform optimally. The Excel workbooks are tied
together by a web application. Other team members are responsible for
the Web Application and Web Services the Excel developers will use to
get data to/ from the web application. Your expertise is desired to
make this application world class. They currently use Team Foundation
Server for source control, work item tracking, and unit testing. Any
new functionality written will also include unit tests. You can help
us drive this process home in the Excel environment. They use a build
server to build the application every time code is checked in, as well
as run all of their unit tests.

55/hr C2C.

Excel/VBA Developer
Design/implement risk reporting tools for limit monitoring, back
testing, capital calculation and other risk measures
Improve current modules with more standardization, robustness and
efficiency. Target to apply the tools for Global usage
Work with users for software support, testing and maintenance issues
Address ad-hoc quantitative, analytical and technical risk requirements
Write functional spec, technical design/implementation and user guide papers
Skills / Qualifications:
? Ideally 3-5 years of experience in financial services industry.
? Expert in Excel/VBA and C++/Java programming
? Solid data model design and database related implementation skills
? Excellent verbal and written skills are a must. Must be able to
explain complex and/or technical matters clearly, accurately and
simply. Frequent interactions with market risk and credit risk
managers, product controllers, and senior IT developers. Timely
feedback and escalation to line manager.
? Think out-of-the-box and be creative in software solutions with the
target and time-constraint in perspective
? Organized, detail-oriented and self-motivated quick learner and
starter. Ability to work in a team and develop & maintain
relationships.
? Proactive and dynamic, be able to work on multiple projects
simultaneously and address ad-hoc requirements in an open, accurate
and timely manner
? Exposure to financial products and risks are preferred; Experience
in risk reporting and design is a plus
? Excellent educational background in computational or quantitative
field (Computer Science, Math, Physics, Financial Engineering) is
preferable.
