* **Serves as technical advisor in managing production DB2/UDB v8/v9
environments. Advises management on the efficient use of these databases*
*Providing production support of large, 7x24 DB2 UDB database supporting
online applications, with rotating on-call production support duties after
hours*
*Troubleshooting production DB2/UDB problems and working effectively with
other team members to identify and address problems.*
*Working as part of the database support team to perform required daily
checks and related activities to ensure maximum availability and SLA
compliance*
*Scripting for database monitoring and to automate routine tasks.*
*Performing data management tasks as required loading, editing, restoring
and removing data at the requests of our clients.*
*Tuning of SQL code and assisting developers in writing and tuning SQL
queries.*
*Ensure high availability and reliability of all enterprise databases*
*Able to identify data metrics and provide management with accurate data.

*Maintains status of assigned initiatives*
*Able to develop a project plan for moderate to high impact projects using
standard project management software*
*Identifies risk areas and implements preventative measures*
*Identifies opportunities and enhancements or resolutions with assistant
from Vendor and/or Business Line*
*Identify contention areas and recommend improvements*
*Provides technical guidance to junior DB2 DBA team members.*
*Expert knowledge supporting DB2/udb v8 & v9*
*Expert knowledge utilizing common scripting languages including korn shell,
bash shell and Perl*
*Experienced with failover clustering and partitioned databases*
