Let me know if you have any consultants with the following skills *Job : Cognos Architect * *Location : Jersey City, NJ* *Duration : 3+ Months* *Rate : **$50/hr** c-c (all inclusive)* The candidate should have extensive experience in design and development of COGNOS report. Familiarity with *Chartis* environment is a plus. - Experience in designing, developing, and testing applications in multiple system environments. - Combines multiple technologies to provide alternative physical solutions. - Performs analysis of business models, logical specifications and/or user requirements to design solutions for the application environment. - Understands the various types of tools and technologies on the market and their appropriate usage. - Can design an entire system configuration including hardware, software, and communications. - Can lead a tool evaluation effort, including the definition of the evaluation criteria, identification of tools to be evaluated, and the actual evaluation. - Can work with various platforms, including mainframes, minis and micros. - Can define a total disaster recovery plan and present the client with various options. - Applies, as appropriate, activity and data modeling, transaction/workflow analysis, internal control and risk analysis and modern business methods, and performance measurement techniques. - Provides technical direction to personnel performing systems analysis and system/ subsystem development tasks. - Coordinates and performs logical and physical systems design. - Reviews and prepares system documents and specifications. Prepares reports, studies, and documentation, delivers presentations, and participates in meetings *Required Skills:* - Minimum of 4 years of Cognos experience with good communication skills - Expertise with *Cognos 8 suite* including; *Framework Manager, Report Studio, Analysis Studio and Powerplay* - Proficient in developing *cubes* - Proficient in developing complex reports with *drill-thru* capabilities - Ability to gather and understand business requirements - Knowledgeable in implementing *Cognos Security* - Experience with the following are a plus -- *JavaScript/HTML/ DHTML/XML * - Proficient and designing and creating complex framework manager models - Design and develop *drill-thrus, drill-downs/up* - Ability to conduct *R&D* and present ideas and findings - Report scheduling, distribution, bursting and refresh of reports - Development of executive *dashboards* and *key performance indicators*( *KPIs*) - Strong analytic, problem solving, and creative thinking - Strong data modeling skills (Normalized and Multidimensional for *Data Marts*, including *Star Schema*, *Snow-Flake Modeling, Fact* and *Dimensional Modeling*) - Knowledge and experience working with Relational Databases such as *Oracle, MS SQL, UDB* - *Financial reporting* background a plus - Must be able to multi-task Candidate must possess strong organizational, communication, and relationship skills. *Cognos SDK* is a strong plus.
