Job Title: DB2 performance testing Consultant Location: Las Vegas, NV Duration: 6+ Months Job Description: (Must be available for an in-person interview) The position will encompass the development of a performance tuning plan for a DB2 for z/OS hosted java based application. The position will work under direction of the Office of the CIO personnel in conjunction with the Department of Labor to develop and implement an overall application performance tuning plan to address immediate and intermediate performance goals. In general, the candidate should have prior experience performing application and physical database tuning in a large scale enterprise environment. Skill Last Performed Total Years experience for this skill * Experience with DB2 for z/OS v8 or higher within the past year * Experience with IBM Universal Database V8.2 or higher within the past two years * Experience with cross-platform database configuration within the IBM product family * Experience with jdbc type-4 drivers for DB2 for z/OS connectivity * Experience tuning within a multi-platform environment * 3 years experience working in a cross-platform DB2 for z/OS and UDB environment * Dynamic SQL tuning in a cross platform environment * Application, Database and Architecture Performance Tuning - ability to systematically identify worst performing components of a system and make appropriate recommendations for the greatest ROI benefits with minimal resources * Experience with DB2 for z/OS Performance monitoring solutions * At least 2 years experience with CA-Platinum Detector (current within the past 3 years) or at least 2 years experience with DB2 Performance Monitor (current within the past 3 years) * Physical z/OS application database tuning * Experience with DB2 for z/OS workload manager (WLM) address spaces, DB2 SQL Procedure Language tuning, and DB2 for z/OS Stored Procedure architecture * Provide an example of a recent tuning experience, including a brief background on the application, the challenges that were identified, the methodology used to troubleshoot and pinpoint specific issues, and the final resolution.
