Duration: 6 Months *Job Functions or Responsibilities Storage/backup architect will be responsible for the design and architecture of the next gen storage and backup solution for a new data center. Responsibilities include: to assess the current storage, back up and recovery architecture, processes, inventory with the purpose to identify inefficiencies, gaps and issues; to drive the analysis and documentation of technical requirements; lead the design in collaboration with infrastructure architects, storage, backup and system administrators; provide cost/benefit for proposed solutions. . The storage architect will provide solution presentations to Executives and staff. . Provide design process and approach for storage and backup designs . Provide capacity management/planning approach and capacity plans . Provide storage/backup technical designs *Must Have Educational Qualifications/Skills/Experience (Basic Qualifications) *Minimum Years Required Must have proven experience (+8 years as storage architect) in the following: . Assess, plan and design storage consolidation for existing storage infrastructure . Design and implementation of various SAN and NAS solutions . Design of IP SAN solutions for heterogeneous operating systems . Create capacity planning processes and procedures for a SAN solution . Design and implement backup and recovery strategies . Conduct hands on training, present brown bags and mentor data management staff related to storage architecture and best practices . Hands on with industry leader Storage and back up technologies. . Multi-vendor and multi-organization storage architectural design experience . Advanced understanding of storage & backup architecture . Storage consolidation and virtualization . SAN virtualization . Backup to disk, virtual disk, tape and virtual tape . EMC, HP, IBM storage solutions . Networker Legato and other backup solutions . SUN StorageTek tape library . Deduplication . Cisco SAN .
