This person must have experience helping organizations select an appropriate enterprise framework and develop the artifacts called for in the architectural framework selected for use. The architectural framework selection process will take into account the Enterprise Architecture as well as best practices for realizing a service-oriented architecture (SOA) given significant legacy IT assets. The contractor should be aware of the evolving standards for modeling SOA using the Unified Modeling Language (UML), such as the recently adopted SOAML. The contractor will advise and mentor the EA team on the approach, sequence of activities, selection of tools, and organization of models and other artifacts. The contractor will actively participate and contribute to the EA team’s activities and review and comment on the resulting artifacts. *Required:* · 10 to 15 years of IT/ software development experience · 5 to 7 years experience working on an Enterprise Architectural team · 5+ years domain modeling, data modeling, and data management best practices · 5+ years of using .NET development (C#) · 5+ years using Agile (SCRUM) and UML · 3 to 5 years of SOA analysis and development *Experience and skill sets:* Directly responsible for the design of high performance, globally delivered SOA based software solutions currently implemented and operating in a commercial environment. Must possess a Software Architecture Certification from a well known, highly regarded program such as SEI, Microsoft, Sun, etc Able to offer advanced training and mentoring on .NET 2.0 and .NET 3.0. An active role in leading the software development industry by any of the following: · Publishing technology textbooks and bestsellers on Microsoft’s technologies with top-tier publishing housing · Publishing numerous articles in magazines such as MSDN Magazine · Speaking at major international software development conferences and present his/her techniques, ideas, tools and breakthroughs *Other requirements:* Experience delivering at least two SOA Enterprise-level projects including at least one involving legacy systems. Experience with one or more Enterprise Architecture Frameworks Experience using design patterns Experience with SOA implementations to address distributed service transaction requirements with support for industry standards Clear understanding of Web services approach including Web service protocols such as SOAP and REST. Understanding of the Enterprise Service Bus approach, including IBM ESB. Clear understanding of Enterprise Mashups and associated tool sets. Experience with implementing BizTalk and/or Sonic Experience using SQL 2005 & 2008 Familiarity with open source technologies Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excellent written and verbal skills Ability to research problems and provide solutions Familiarity with the entire software engineering life cycle covering Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Release, and Maintenance Solid understanding of Object Oriented programming theory and techniques Proven ability to rapidly deliver prototypes and proof-of-concept work to validate a proposed architectural approach Ability to separate and work comfortably at multiple levels of abstraction within an architecture Extensive expertise in enterprise architectural components and interfaces and their applications.
