*Responsibilities:**-*
- Analysis of database tables as they relate to a data warehouse model
and determination of likely intra and inter-database relationships.
- Assess the quality and consistency of data stored in a source
database and develops recommendations for data cleansing based upon data
warehouse business
- Prepare a Data Quality and Schema Structure Report which documents
findings regarding the database analysis work performed. ER diagramming
will be a part of this activity.
- Create mappings between the fields in the source and target systems
as well as identifying relationships within a source.
- Leverage mappings to create an ETL process to move the data from the
source system to the target system.
- Basic Performance tuning of queries and tables.
- Documentation of source database schemas to be used by other Data
Analysts.
- Meet with client representatives to understand and document business
needs and solution requirements.
- Coordination of tasks for and mentoring of less experienced team
members.
**Skills:--**
- 4+ yrs Oracle 10g experience is required. SQL Server 2005 is highly
desired.
- 7+Year Experience with an ETL tool such as Informatica, Pentaho.
- Experience working with multiple relational databases.
- Capable of quickly translating database knowledge from one vendor to
another.
- Worked with a variety of vendor tools and competent with a variety of
tool sets.
- Competence in reading and reviewing XML output; XML Schema experience
is a plus.
- Project experience writing basic scripts in scripting languages such
as JavaScript
- Strong documentation, organization and communication skills
- Expected to frequently communicate with client(s) and actively work
with other members; Directly influences customer satisfaction and ongoing
relationships
- Possess ability to identify/articulate new opportunities to expand
work scope with client.
- Familiarity with the domain of public safety and related systems is a
big plus.
- B.S. in Computer Science is required.
