Job Title: BA/QA ANALYST Duration: 6+ Months Location: Chicago, IL Job Description: This position is responsible for evaluating requirements for testing new or modified products and documentation prior to production release. Developing comprehensive test strategies that is then supported through, developing, creating, and executing test plans and cases based on software requirements and technical understanding of product architecture; executing various system, performance, integration, and ad-hoc tests according to approved test plans and testing schedule; troubleshooting, in conjunction with end users and development teams, on issues of reproducing, investigating and debugging software; generating defect reports for issues found during testing, and providing accurate testing status to project stakeholders; focusing on project quality issues, but also makes contributions beyond immediate assignments; possessing broad overall knowledge of business applications; working independently; managing multiple testing projects concurrently. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Knowledge of HIPAA 4010 and 5010 transactions to support the analysis of current business processes and work with management to improve and implement enterprise solutions to ensure compliance with the regulatory mandate including BCBSA. * Responsible for business process design and lead high-level business process design efforts with information from stakeholders, end users, and ITG. * Coordinate activities of subject matter experts (SME's) and guide them during the Vision and Strategy phase to identify business issues, best practices, and performance of competitors. * Work with organization change manager to ensure organizational change agenda is completed. * Evaluate new business capabilities and develop a comprehensive test strategy which defines the testing approach for function or release. * Evaluate and test new or modified software products and validate documentation prior to release. * Prepare, design, and execute test plans and cases (of moderate to high complexity) based on customer and software requirements and technical understanding of product architecture to attain quality software both economically and efficiently, including both new and existing feature regression tests. * Ensure traceability of test cases to requirements. * Verify accuracy of test results and documents results. * Document defects in defect tracking system. * Perform re-tests to verify resolution of defects. * Reproduce, investigate, and debug software issues. * Develop and maintain project test deliverables in adherence to XXXX-defined methodology. * Communicate updates to project team, project leads, supervisors, and managers as required. * Create and/or contribute to the development of System Test and Overall Test and Review plans.
