Requirement Location - 1 - DENVER,CO ,Charlotte NC Rate - Best in the market Primary Skills: C++ J2EE Platform Java SQL Data Access # of Years Required: 0-2 Secondary Skills: Desktop Distributed Server # of Years Required: 0-2 Job Purpose/ Description: • Candidate’s primary responsibility will be to provide 2nd level support of our Sungard EXP AG (PowerImage) Workflow application and Imaging applications. • Candidate will act as liaison between the business user’s community and the IT infrastructure, Vendor, and/or varies other teams to communicate issues and coordinate resolutions to issues in production environment. • Will be expected to troubleshoot and document steps and parameters surrounding issues reported in production environment. • Serves as SME in all aspects of systems / applications software technology and/or application components. • Resolves application and technical problems of the highest complexity. • Evaluates and implements new initiatives on process improvement and technology initiatives. • Leads interdepartmental or interdivisional operational project initiatives. • Analyzes performance and capacity issues of the highest complexity with systems / applications software and/or application components. • Continuously cultivates knowledge of emerging technologies. • Provides mentoring and training to junior staff. • Excels at working collaboratively with IT staff on development, troubleshooting, and other technical efforts. • Candidate may be responsible for coordinating implementation of fixes into the production environment. • Candidate’s activities will be guided by rigorous system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management best practices; internal Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and other processes related to regulatory or compliance requirements; and change control and problem management procedures. Tasks and Responsibilities: Candidate will need to be able to diagnose environmental and application issues. Excellent problem solving skills. Candidate will work with the IT department as well as business users to determine cause and resolutions to application issues that arise in production. Candidate will use TIAA-CREF’s Problem Management utility to track and document issues that arise in production. Candidate will also be responsible for testing production fixes in the production fix environment to ensure they have resolved given issue as well as ensure production fixes do not cause other issues. Candidate will be responsible for Documenting work and troubleshooting processes. A key component of the job will involve utilizing standard project management tools along following SDLC and SOX procedures. Candidate will be responsible for implementing changes into the production environment as well as following Corporate Change Control processes and procedure. Also: -Resolves application and technical problems. -Participates on project teams. -Analyzes performance and capacity issues with systems / applications software and/or application components. -Able to work collaboratively with IT staff on troubleshooting, and other technical efforts. -Great written and oral communication skills -Analyzes business needs that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions; recommends solutions that are aligned with business / IT strategies and comply with corporate architectural standards. MUST HAVE ability to take the initiative on issues Required education/experience: • Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. • 11 plus years of IT work experience in systems programming / analysis. • Typically experienced across multiple Information Technology areas and all system / applications software development. • Serves as point of escalation for complex issues. • Responsible for developing and executing project plans, as well as coordinating groups of IT staff.
