Position Title : Windows Administrator Pay rate : Negotiable *Location : *Austin, TX Duration: 3 months (may extend) Work involves installation, maintenance and modifications of existing Windows 2003 & 2008 hardware and software; responding to end-user requests for assistance and modifications to the computing environment. Assign and/or supervise the work of vendors to ensure proper security and critical OS patching, Including Virus protection is kept up to date and file level security. Manage DNS, and file transfer services as well as Virus protection using Symantec System Center. Provide domain wide Microsoft WSUS Windows update Utility Server to manage security patches and updates to servers. Support SAN attached storage units utilizing their management tools. Monitor systems behavior and utilization to ensure optimal performance. Schedule planned outages between application, tools and development teams for hardware or software maintenance. Attend regular scheduled planning and change approval meetings. Monitor, analyze and troubleshoot computer servers to minimize system downtime to ensure ability to provide direct client services. Performs complex analysis to diagnose system problems, trends, determine necessary corrective action. Install and configure server hardware, peripheral and computer OS/software and work with various vendors’ to install proof of concept software tools. WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Windows Server Administrator with five or more years experienced with active directory, windows domain infrastructure, security experience, and management of Active Directory services. Experience with data center global policies to ensure proper security of Intel servers running Windows 2003 & 2008 server. Working with multiple Teams in a large scale environment is critical. Experience with Virtual OS experience in VMware or Hyper V and/or SharePoint administration, Exchange, IIS and SQL administration. II.
