VB.Net consultant Location: NC Duration: 6 months Rate: Open all inclusive Description: That one dedicated person would need to have skills and experience both as a requirements analyst and as a software developer. Due to the late start on getting this project underway, it doesn't appear to be very likely that any actual development work will occur during the 2010 project. Skills and experience with requirements development are important. The abilities to "hear the voice of the customer" and to elicit, analyze, specify, validate, and manage requirements are key. Good documentation and writing skills are important. In the role of requirements analyst, for this project we expect the person to perform a lead role in development of a business requirements document (or a product vision and project scope document), a use case document, and a software requirements specification. If additional funding is approved late this year to continue the project in 2011, the hire, depending on our satisfaction with his/her work to that point, would have preferential consideration to serve in the role of software developer to complete the project. In addition to the actual coding, we would expect the person to first develop a corresponding software design document. Because of the project knowledge gained as the requirements analyst, it makes sense to leverage that background by using the same person be the software developer. In the role of software developer, we would expect the person to develop and to test a .Net application using most likely VB.NET and an Oracle relational database. Requirements include a minimum of five years of hands-on experience with .NET technologies (preferably VB.NET) and Oracle relational database design and development (including expertise in tables, triggers, procedures, packages, sequences, etc.). Good interpersonal and communications skills are requirements. Positive attitude, high-energy level, demonstrated ability to work effectively as a project team member, and ability to work and produce quality results in a timely manner and with minimum of supervision are all important. Demonstrated track record of accomplishment with .NET technologies and relational database development are important. References would be helpful.
