Role: Embedded Linux Developer Location: Chicago, IL Duration: 6 months Plus Rate: (DOE) After Phone Screen In-person Interview must For submittal we need 2 professional references. Job Description: The Core Connectivity team is seeking a motivated, embedded Linux software developer with excellent communication and problem solving skills. You will join a dynamic team responsible for developing future connectivity, multimedia, and telematics platforms. We are developing cutting edge infotainment products for the next generation of automobiles. Knowledge/Skills: * Knowledge and experience with the following required: Linux, embedded programming and debugging. Desirable: working knowledge of Freescale iMX35 microprocessor. * Knowledge and experience with the following required: Linux kernel / device driver modules. Preferred knowledge will include hands-on expertise with Multi Media Card (MMC) software layer, mx_sdhci, kernel version Linux kernel 2.6.24, Secure Digital Input Output (SDIO) stack, UART driver. * Expert in embedded C programming and debugging. Optionally, C++ programming skills - the current project is all embedded C. * Hands-on experience in configuring and building Linux distributions. * Hands-on experience with Linux GNU tools. * Experience with Freescale Boards Support Package for iMX315 a plus. * Experience working directly with prototype hardware. * Ability and willingness to work well with the local internal product development teams using our platform as well as teams overseas. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. * Displays a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-functional problems. * Working knowledge of DOORS, Clearcase and ClearQuest is a plus. * Bachelor's degree in EE, Computer Science, or equivalent required. * MS in EE, Computer Science or equivalent is a plus.
