Highly experienced MS SQL Server OLAP developer needed to implement Analysis
Services cubes utilizing data in a large Credit Card data warehouse.
Existing warehouse is an MS SQL Server 2000 back end database (plans to
migrate to SQL Server 2005 currently in progress).
Warehouse supports multiple business and subject areas such as Finance,
Operations, Risk, and Marketing.
Significant experience developing MS SQL Server Analysis Services cubes is
required.
Expert SQL knowledge needed to query back end database objects and
appropriately align underlying data structures to OLAP cube design and
implementation.
Proven experience in tuning OLAP objects to improve performance.
Experience in developing ETL applications using either SQL Server DTS, SSIS
and/or stored procedures very helpful.
Strong understanding of dimensional data models used in data warehouse
solution architecture.
Experience in promoting ETL and OLAP applications to production
environment.
Some project tasks may include modification/enhancement of existing OLAP
objects developed by another resource.
Significant client interaction will be part of this contract assignment.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills required.
Resource must be able to assist in driving out business requirements and
business rules for OLAP development.
Attention to detail is essential along with commitment to create high
quality products.
Able to document cube/OLAP detailed design specifications along with
metadata for cube and database objects used for cube builds.
Technical Knowledge: Data Warehousing; Data Mapping; Technical Analyst; SQL
Server; Database; OLAP People Management: Provide technical support and
coaching to team members Strong command of English Language
