Working Title: Senior Testing Lead/Coordinator
Knowledge & Experience
REQUIRED:
- 8+ years software development testing experience
- 3+ years experience with testing web based applications
Desired
- Experience working from specifications and using a solid change management process
- Experience in planning, directing and establishing System Testing, Performance Testing and Acceptance Testing efforts
- Experience leading a large effort to complete business applications testing on a tight time schedule
- Experience in final validation of systems prior to Go-Live
- Experience working on IT applications development projects in large complex private or public sector organizations
REQUIRED Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to use MS Office, MS SharePoint and other basic toolsets to create testing tools and tracking methods

Additional evaluation criteria:
- Knowledge in testing Coldbox applications and associated frameworks like Coldbox or AJAX
- General understanding or experience with testing Oracle PL/SQL and stored procedures
- Experience with testing to specifications/requirements

- Experience with systems engineering activities
- Experience working with IT technical team members and understands IT terminology
- Good communication skills and a customer service focus
- Adheres to government agency standards and templates

Agency Description:
The Oregon Employment Department (OED) promotes the employment of Oregonians through developing a diversified, multi-skilled work force, promoting quality childcare, and providing support during periods of unemployment. OED Information Technology Services (ITS) maintains mission critical legacy mainframe systems in a COBOL development environment; a complex suite of web services utilizing Internet/Intranet environments; mission critical Interactive Voice Response and imaging systems.
Job Description and Duties:
The upfront workload and timeline for this project is intense due to the need to complete the work within the 2010 timeframe. The overall design has been completed and the software components and interfaces have been defined. The development team has just started work using well defined specificaitons. The selected individual person in this contract position must have expert knowledge of testing software systems for Systems Testing, Performance Testing and guiding Acceptance Testing, along with substantial experience participating in the development of large cross-platform applications, to focus on the job of identifying defects that will prevent a Go-Live and ensure that business requirements are met by the developed application. The contractor will be expected to participate in a full functional project team to meet the tight deadlines.
Specific Duties include the following:
- Prioritize, coordinate and facilitate the execution of Test Cases
- Assist in the development of Test Cases/Scrtipts and consistently ensure they are run to a high quality standard
- Management of the process to correct defects that are found, until they are tested after being corrected
- Regular status reporting
- Correction of Specifications as requirements defects are found
Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs. Formulates systems to parallel overall business strategies.
Business Analyst/Consultant capabilities with 8 or more years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with relational database concepts, and client-server concepts. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. May report directly to a project lead or manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
