Oracle Application DBA / Alpharetta, GA / 6+ month contract Candidates must be local and have telecommunications experience. Job Description: Contribute to the development process by refining Oracle 10g r2 and 11g r1 database application designs for enhanced performance through SQL tuning, table partitioning, index additions as well as utilizing other tuning methodologies. Work with developers to re-engineer logic for Oracle PL/SQL programs to gain higher process throughput. This type of logic modification includes breaking up modules to run in separate process threads to be run simultaneously as well as rewriting SQL code to utilize indexes and partitions. Guide and mentor others in Oracle database tuning and problem determination and resolution on multiple Sun Solaris 9/10 and Linux. Implement and evaluate Oracle 10g/11g databases running on Real Application Clusters (RAC) and other cutting edge technologies for Proof of Concept projects. Create, organize and maintain departmental design, technical and business case documentation utilizing Visio, Erwin, MS Word, MS Excel and MS Power Point. Perform benchmark testing of Quality Control and production servers using Quest's Benchmark Factory, Open bench and home grown test procedures. Work with management to interview and evaluate technical candidates for various Oracle development and application database administrator positions. Coordinate scheduling of production implementations such as RMAN, Oracle patches, Golden Gate and other application upgrades. Coordinate the design and setup of disaster recovery solution standby databases using Oracle Dataguard. Develop Applications and tools utilizing PLSQL, Unix and other scripting languages. Work the production support and production DBA groups to resolve issues and implement enterprise wide application changes. Must have experience in the following: o Oracle 10g r2 and 11g r1 Oracle RAC implementation and support on Red hat Linux. o Oracle Datapump, Transportable Tablespaces, Materialized Views, Golden Gate Replication Working with 1+TB databases, OLTP and DSS technologies. o Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Controller Developer Tools (TOAD/SQL Navigator / PLSQL Developer /SQL Developer), Oracle Scheduler, Unix and other Shell scripting -- Thanks & Regards Preetham RapidIT, Inc.
