Our client has an opening in their *Bedford, MA *office for a UNIX Systems
Administrator. Background in Red Hat Linux and Weblogic, Apache, TomCat &
Oracle are key. Also knowledge of TCP/IP and Ethernet inter-networked
environments are key as well.
Contract is at least *6 months *but will most likely be extended as there is
a lot of work to be done.

Our client is also looking for a contract Linux Systems Administrator.
Interview process will be a phone screen followed by a face to face.
*RESPONSIBILITIES:*
* Perform Red Hat Linux based server builds and administration
* Ongoing design planning, implementation, and maintenance of our growing
network infrastructure.
* Perform analysis and performance evaluation of the Linux computing
environment and identify methods to improve efficiency Perform Operating
System and Application Patch and Hot-Fix deployment technologies.
* Provide minor DB Support for critical business systems
*QUALIFICATIONS:*
Education and Experience:
* BS (CIS, CS or EE) or equivalent experience
* 5 to 7 years experience in a System Administration capacity, working with
Networking and Server technical infrastructures.
* Expertise in Unix/Linux servers and operating systems as well as some
basic understanding of Windows Active Directory/Operating Systems
* Basic Ethernet Internetworking knowledge
*MUST HAVES:*
* WebLogic, Apache, Oracle knowledge and support.
* Experience in working in team-orientated environments.
* Demonstrated experience with larger networking practices and
infrastructure are a plus.
* Working knowledge of Linux/Unix based operating systems (particularly Red
Hat).
* Demonstrated basic understanding of TCP/IP and Ethernet inter-networked
environments.
* Understanding of Apache, sendmail, and bind DNS are essential.
* Familiarity with Systems Administration duties such as disk storage
management , memory, hardware and software configuration.
* Ability to take direction and feedback from others.
* History of providing and adhering to *best practices* processes and
procedures in a documented format.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-orientated environment.
* Demonstrate an ability to make decisions that ensure quick resolution of
events and to provide recommendations and expertise to enhance system
performance and availability.
* Demonstrated customer service skills and expertise in communicating with
internal and external customers about the extent of an issue and a realistic
timeline for resolution.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet timelines and
objectives.
* Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
*The following skills are a plus:*
* Database Management (Oracle/MySQL)
* Weblogic
* VMware
* Red Hat clustering experience.
* Experience with Nagios, MRTG, and Cacti
