*Position : Sybase DBA* *Location : NYC* *Duration:3-4 months* *Rate : 65/hr.* * * *Reviews, evaluates, designs, implements and maintains company database[s]. Identifies data sources, constructs data decomposition diagrams, provides data flow diagrams and documents the process. Writes codes for database access, modifications, and constructions including stored procedures. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and at least 8-10 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top level contributor/ specialist. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Job Requirements: In-Depth knowledge of Sybase 15+ Cluster Edition installation and configuration; 8-10 years of experience In-Depth knowledge of Sybase Replication; including installation and configuration between two cluster sets Solid knowledge of Sybase Database Administration under UNIX platform Solid troubleshooting abilities during the install process (knowledge of UNIX, Sybase License Daemon issues and Cluster Edition required) Excellent communication skills Excellent performance tuning skills * Minimum travel required within tri-state, if at all. candidates must have clustering experience.
