*Position: Senior Javascript UI Engineer * *Location: NYC*
*Duration: 6+ months* Description Mature software engineer with 5+ years of hands-on experience developing AJAX applications. Job requires strong client contact and communication skills. This engineer will be responsible for building, testing, deploying and maintaining Javascript, HTML and CSS using various scripting libraries and tools. Will help in gathering technical requirements from both business and technical users. Will implement custom solutions where necessary and educate customers and other client-side developers. Must be comfortable working in the context of sophisticated Rails Web services. Skills • Experience building high-scale consumer-facing Web applications including demonstrated excellence in Javascript development experience and deep knowledge of Javascript technologies (jQuery, JSON, etc.) and best practices. • Strong understanding of and demonstrated ability to utilize XML/JSON based RESTful APIs and other cross-domain Web services. • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, and a desire to want to learn more and share knowledge with others • Thorough knowledge and substantial experience with front-end web programming, including XHTML, DHTML, AJAX, CSS, JavaScript, XML • Ability to influence behavior with resources not under direct control by effective communication • Ability to plan and manage in a rapidly changing environment • Strong analytical skills • Understanding of cross-site scripting (XSS) and other client-side vulnerabilities. • Exposure to a server-side development platform (e.g., Rails, PHP, JavaEE, .NET) a plus. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Bachelor's degree in computer science/ related subject matter or equivalent work experience *Quick note from the MGR:* *I'm looking for an advanced Javascript developer - one whose strength is AJAX and Javascript as a coding discipline, not as a shallow pastime in between doing HTML and CSS.
